Items still left to do in the restoration process:
—New control panel overlay (have a NOS one, but just wanted to play it, and have it out in the world instead of keeping my thumbs on it) - will save that for the winter I think, although there is a part of me that wants to keep it ratty - as it shows how much love it's been thru.
—Better bezel glass - some smart-ass decided it was cool to carve a design in it
—Fresh arcade monitor
History: I saw this Gals Panic machine in my friends garage, and pondered why it looked familiar for quite a few minutes (it was housed in an original Ms. Pac-man cabinet, and I had all the extra parts ready to go!) - so spent the entire rest of the day cleaning it up, and playing it - my friend was in some desperate need of some space - was happy to oblige, and take a few key items away to make room for his new 50" game and a dual 25" setup. Evidently worth trading a nice pinball and a 30" MAME system for. Need new coin switches in the Ms. Pac-man, and it had no locks, and missing the screws that hold the smoked glass down (in front of the monitor, but beneath the bezel glass artwork) :: Acquired the original manual and schematics for it awhile back :: re-wired the Ms. Pac-man for some test switches to the Jamma board, and added proper threaded holes for the marquee :: very clean inside and out - decent shape, retouched well, but the original side art must have been poor, as someone added dark red arborite sides (or so I think) - no worries, as I can't stand that original piece anyhow. My original Pac-man control panel doesn't quite fit inside, so I'll have to mull-over how I might retro fit in inside that cabinet style - or perhaps it's just my control panel that is odd? :: What is my favorite version - still Ms. Pac-man, and least is Pac-man, but surprisingly [to me] Speedy Pac-man is a lot of fun
