I can be booked for rehearsals (195/hr) or live concerts (350/hr) any time - session includes a full selection of images shot (web sized on a CD-R) - or (385/hr) if you'd like some real prints to hang up :: a dozen 4x6 full frame prints and one 8x10 of your choice (per hour). Remaining photos can be printed later ala cart in the size and paper surface of your choice (matte or glossy) up to 10x15" larger custom sizes also available. Half day rate is 1,200.00

Deviating Vapors :: Guitar Connection

Shot this 10.02.2007 at 'The Den' :: MacEwan Student Centre :: Five Star Affair, Starewell, Woodpigeon, The Rocky Fortune, and S.I.D.S. (Sudden Infant Dance Syndrome) - missed the first set of SIDS - MuchMusic and the UofC Students' Union presented 'Much Does Calgary' on February 10, 2007 in the Den on the University of Calgary campus. Bela Fleck and the Flecktones :: Montreal, Quebec :: July 4, 1995

Music shots that I pulled from one slide file case of images I thought worthy of sharing - originals don't translate that great to digital (way too contrasty and lacking in dynamic range), but figured the content made up for being hidden away all these years in my vaults - seen only by a handful of people [if that] since imaged - reshot off a light table on a Minolta 7D sensor and a 50/2.8 macro rig 20.11.2007 :: this series from July 4, 1995 : main concert hall downtown Montreal, Quebec (forget the venue title) :: Violin guy on the left , and RoyEl aka Future Man on the right playing his own invention : a Drumitar. Was a wild show, actually was more impressed with the Flecktones than with Al DiMeola. A few grab shots of Stanley Clarke, Jean-Luc Ponty & Al DiMeola as they came on stage, and a single shot of Popa Chubby (he was an outdoor event, and really, really good - I think there are more shots somewhere, just haven't come across them yet). :: This concert in particular is a story I've retold many times over the years - I'd heard [late] that Al DiMeola was coming to town, so of course that meant that all the good tickets were already gone. Groan. Well, can't possibly miss DiMeola - so I go down to the ticket window right away, stand in line, and ... the guy in front of me RETURNS a pair of tickets, which happen to be Second Row, Center. OMG! So, being completely blown away [did anyone even know you could RETURN tickets?!?], I quickly re-compose myself and ask the counter girl if I could have those that were just returned ... and she just said "sure". Huh?!? So I snag them, and do a little happy dance, and carry on. Wicked, wicked show - bought a few albums after, but they don't stand up to the live performance that night by any means. Anyhow, these multiple exposure frames on here are some of my favorites and explain what I've been yakking about all these years.

!Bang :: Morgans Pub

Well, here's a shot of Mike (Bassist) beltin' out the vocals, and another art shot of him playing bass. Missed the first set I guess, hanging out with my own lead guitarist, oh well! Saw them the previous night, and was so impressed, I had to come back for another round - the place was packed [being a Fri vs a Thursday], and the crowd was really into things, plus loved having me shooting as well, especially after seeing some of the material on my laptop spinning after I covered the second set. Thanks to the cool people I met that night - you know who you are. Went down to The Palomino - to cover Epi-Demic [Kyle thumbnailed on bass], The Dogfaced Models and BDFM [right thumbnail] (aka Beer Drinking Fighting Machine) hard-core bands :: 24.02.2007 :: great show, and of course hard-core/thrash crowd - excellent! - bands were pumped to see the material right after as well. Ship & Anchor :: C'mon :: The Get Down :: Forbidden Dimension

Three killer bands played for part of the Sled Island Independent Music Festival here in Calgary - The Get Down - from Edmonton, then a nice gritty 3-piece called Forbidden Dimension, (HP Lovesauce thumbnailed on the left here) then topped off with a smashing set from C'mon (thumbnailed). Had the band sign two discs for me after the show. Lint, Ole! :: Castle Pub

The drummer from Lint was extremely impressive - what a fabulous band - kind of extra-hard-rock meets jazz, can't wait until Sept 7, when they play Broken City, and have their official CD launch shot 27.07.2007 - the last band was Ole!, and they were very expressive visually, was a treat to shoot them, then I hug out for awhile and edited the set at Soda around the corner until closing :: posted a Lint gallery 31.07.2007

Got there a bit late - had to wait for maximum occupancy to subside, but thankfully she hadn't gone on stage before I sauntered in - crowd ate her up, good band, and lighting - she looked fabulous, and wore different outfits for both sets [music was completely different too], said hi at her signing table afterwards :: shot 06.07.2007 :: first set and second set posted 20.07.2007 (more from the second set shortly)

Sloan :: Stampede (Coke Stage)

Took in most of the Sloan set at the Coke Stage - lots of people were 'crowd riding', and giving the security guards conniptions. Chris Murphy thumbnailed here playing a Fender Mustang Bass - seems he decided to do double duty on guitar and bass tonight. Was going to take some pics of Marty Stuart & his Fabulous Superlatives, but the line-up to get in was pegged at 6hrs. Obviously not in the cards for at most a 1.5hr set :: shot 13.07.2007

Stampede Opening Day (Nite)

Shot a lot of cool stuff, and met some interesting drunken party people :: haven't been to the grounds in ages - the mini donuts were not quite as fabulous as I recall from my childhood tho :: shot 05.07.2007 :: hi to the lass that was celebrating her 19th birthday (shot her on the stage with Default) - hi to Heather, thanks for taking a couple snaps of me! :: some shots posted in a Facebook note...

The band put on a good show to a sold-out venue there in NW Calgary - only their third stop in Canada so far on this tour, found out just after the show ended that Andy from Guitar Connection was watching this show, but we didn't know each other was in attendance - got some good shots, even with the typical first three song limit at the stage :: shot 25.06.2007 :: those that asked about prints, there is a special 4x6 price, just email and ask :: posted an in-progress gallery 26.06.2007 - arrange a viewing for more shots in the interim ... My favorite part was actually the organ player - Kofi Burbridge, wish I could have clamoured up on stage to get some of that finger action going on - never seen a keyboard slash flute player before either!

Shot a swack of hard-core bands at The Distillery :: 11.05.2007 :: It was The Distillery's Grand Re-opening Party :: featuring The Turrettes & BDFM w/Primitive Screwheads and Buddy Wiser and the DT's (for some reason the Dog Faced Models didn't play - although I saw the guitarist and his wife there party-in' :: then partied with the bar owners and the bands until 6am... - good times, and loads of shots to come... // Did it again Sat for the Punk vs Metal show - Mark of Cain, Primitive Screwheads, Frightenstein and hosted by The Dueling Neef Kings.

Notes:
Was a whirl-wind jaunt back to Calgary (from Edmonton) to shoot the Rokktoberfest gig at Cowboys [2006] - lots of great material to come.

Took a train up along the coast to San Francisco to see and photograph Y & T. Great first show. Missed out on seeing their second show due to unforeseen circumstances [12.08.06]. Was wonderful in Tiburon, CA. Weather was too fricken hot down in LA / Awesome Sixth annual Canada Day Rockfest at Ceili's - 14 live bands - got lots of good material. Congrats to the winners - Steve McQueen Band, and the runners-up - Niven (my personal favorite from that night). Finished all the gallery shots [Aug 3].

Fabulous show in May 06 - w/Bif Naked/Britt-Black/Neurosonic at Coyotes here in Calgary, AB. Thanks to all three bands for given' their all - and the great crowd - party on! (you know who you all are!) Went down to LA to shoot for a month and a half. Very proud of this body of work! ::
